3. SECRETARY'S REPORT Mr Secretary read out at meeting.

The secretary recorded his special thanks to a number of members for their support during his first year in post; including Barry Heaps for maintaining the accounts and sorting payments with each club; David Thompson and Mark Greaves who have acted as assistants throughout the year; Graham Fifoot for the membership; Ian Lawrence for assisting with the booking of events for 2024; Ian Ramsay for providing prizes. The Secretary also made a special thank you to Tony Durkin for his help throughout the year with arrangement and also for writing the report (Secretary noted that his thanks to Tony wasn’t in the original report from Tony). Report was accepted with thanks to the Secretary.

4. TREASURER'S REPORT

Copies provided at the meeting of both the 2022 Audited accounts and the 2023 interim accounts.

Brief comments from the Treasurer Barry Heaps explained that our financial position was healthy. The Treasurer confirmed no change in the annual subscriptions.

The Treasurer wished to thank the auditor, Alan White for his work auditing the accounts.

The report was accepted with special thanks to the Treasurer, and Auditor for all the unseen work that they do for the Society.

5. APPOINTMENT OF CAPTAIN & VICE-CAPTAIN FOR THE YEAR 2020

Nominated Captain – Mrs Olive Watson - approved for 2024

6. ELECTION OF SECRETARY, TREASURER, ASSISTANT SECRETARY and AUDITOR FOR 2023/2024

Nominations: Secretary David Owen

Assistant Secretary Dave Thompson & Mark Greaves

Treasurer Barry Heaps

Auditor Alan White

All nominations were approved by acclaim with thanks for all of the work done this year to everyone.

7. PROPOSALS/DISCUSSIONS

1) Prizes for CCOGS Competitions

Membership discussed the prizes for competitions and three options were put forward for a vote: -

· Remain with bottles of wine (minimum of ten bottles per event)

· Move to voucher for American Golf (etc.)

· Move to vouchers universal.

The consensus from the floor was to remain with wine as the prize.

Therefore, the proposal is carried and minuted.

2) CCOGS Holiday (Tony Parsons/’Nefyn’ holiday)

Mr Thompson had sent in his observations and proposed options for the CCOGS holiday. The members appeared split between Nefyn and Hawkstone Park as two venues; but other venues could be considered.

The membership were not in agreement over a venue, although Captain stated he would be willing to arrange the event if at Nefyn.

The email from Mr Thompson asked for an individual(s) to run the event separate to the Secretary.

3) Xmas Cup 2024.

Secretary advised the floor that he was arranging Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club as a venue for this years Xmas Cup and also the Autumn Trophy (abandoned due to weather at Abergele GC).
