Welcome to 2025 Season
|
Who are we ? |
CCOGS was created by people, who served the
Old Cheshire County Council.
However CCOGS membership is now open to all current and retired employees
of Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester Councils, as well as
employees of the previous District and County Councils, plus friends
of members.
(See the Membership Section for details)
Our President was traditionally the Chairman of the Council, but this
office has now lapsed.
|
- The Society was formed in 1959, when
the
then Vice-Chairman of the County Council,
Herbert Dewes (later to become Sir Herbert),
called a meeting of a few interested officers to
suggest the formation of a 'Golf Society'.
- CCOGS, as it became, now has about 50
members.
In the summer we have a fixture once a month,
plus three additional events.
- It used yo include The Nefyn holiday, over three days in September,
a match against North Wirral Golf Society (NWGS) and an Open Invitational
event at Poulton Park.
For various reasons these have ceased, except for the Holiday which
continues in a different format.
- New members
are always warmly welcomed.
